Founder and CEO: Lakeshia Gilbert

Lakeshia has a well-rounded educational background in the areas of Criminal Justice, Business Management, Human Services and Psychology. She worked for Kent County 17th Circuit Court –Family Division for over a decade as a Youth Specialist and a Surveillance Officer dealing with at risk youth and their families.  After returning back to school to obtain her Masters of Psychology she shifted gears in her career and began working with survivors of abuse as a Crisis Intervention Advocate.  Lakeshia saw a substantial need in the Grand Rapids area for adolescents with unexpected preganancies, as she was also a teen mother.  

COO: Trinity Clemens

Trinity comes to the HOAP team with over 10 years of experience in Nonprofit Administration/ Operations and almost 15 years of experience working with/ empowering at-risk youth. She currently provides leadership and oversight as Program Manager at Family Futures for the RAVE program, and management for Early Childhood partnerships. Previously, she served as the Program Director for Girls, Inc., Community Schools Coordinator for Kent Services Schools Network, and Youth Specialist with Kent County Juvenile Detention.

Board Member: Latricia Lomax

Latricia is the C.E.O of  the Business Exchange, Exchange Ur Care and Exclusive Media.  She is an integral part of our networking and fund development group.    

Business Development: Summer Thompson


Summer is the Manager of Business Process for E&M Design Solutions and comes to the h.o.a.p team with almost 10 years of business develop/ management experience. Her background in business organization, and development of processes and procedures contributes to foundation of the organization.

Board Member: Tija Matthews


Tija has broad background in personal banking, tax preparation and real estate.  She has worked as a financial advocate and mentor with various clients that were participants of the program.
